An IntegratedDevelopmentEnvironment is a tool for software development. Usually it is a graphical tool optimized for Rapid Application Development. It contains an embedded compiler and is usually for just one programming language or for just one operating system. An IntegratedDevelopmentEnvironment usually has its own system for building and configuring software and is not dependent on MAKE like tools.
