Submission of Papers

  1. Step 1: Authors are requested to notify the program committee of intent to submit a paper by May 1, 2002. This is optional but allows the committee to plan for best use of reviewers and time. Please send an email message with the expected title of the paper, list of authors, list of keywords, and a contact phone number and email to wcre.2002@durham.ac.uk. Please, do not include the paper in this message.
  2. Step 2: Submit your paper to wcre.2002@durham.ac.uk.

Papers should describe original and significant work in the research and practice of reverse engineering. Papers should be limited to 10 proceedings pages, at most 6000 words. Papers must not have been previously published nor have been submitted to, or be in consideration for, any journal, book, or other conference. All papers should explicitly state the goals of tools or approaches described and should use accepted, standard terminology (see the ReverseAndReengineeringTaxonomy). Authors are requested to explicitly include their validation for any ideas or tools they are presenting.

WCRE strongly encourages electronic submissions. Papers should be in the IEEE proceedings format and sent as a single portable document format (.pdf) or Postscript file conforming to the IEEE Postscript submission guidelines. (LaTeX users should use the standard IEEE proceedings format style file). Contact one of the Program Chairs before sending other file types.

All submissions must be viewable and printable with Ghostview, version 1.5.

At least one author of each accepted paper must register and attend the conference. That registration is due with the camera-ready final copy before the paper is printed in the proceedings. By submitting a paper for consideration, you acknowledge and accept these requirements.

Proceedings of the Working Conference will be published by IEEE Computer Society Press. Earlier WCRE proceedings are available from the IEEE digital library:

The review of any paper which involves a 2002 co-chair directly or indirectly will be handled in a separate review and decision process managed by the WCRE Steering Committee Chair to ensure confidentiality and integrity.

The Journal of Systems and Software has agreed to publish a special issue devoted to WCRE 2002. Authors of the best papers will be invited to revise, extend, and submit their papers to this special issue immediately after the conference.
